The Search for Nature’s Finest Botanicals

Great fragrance begins in the soil. We meticulously source our raw materials at the absolute peak of their aromatic potency to ensure unmatched purity.

Handpicked at Dawn: Our Damask roses (Rosa damascena) and Jasmine flowers are hand-harvested by local farmers at the break of dawn, precisely when their essential oils are most concentrated.

The Essence of Earth: For our legendary Mitti Attar, we select clean, baked topsoil from the local banks of the Ganges, capturing the literal scent of the first rain hitting the parched earth.

Rigorous Quality Standards: Every petal, root, and spice undergoes a strict sensory inspection. Only the most vibrant, pristine botanicals make it into our traditional copper stills.

About Our Leather

#EXTRACTION

The Alchemy of Fire, Water, and Copper

Our extraction process completely bypasses modern machinery, relying instead on a eco-friendly hydro-distillation technique passed down through generations.

The Copper Degs: The selected botanicals are placed into massive copper stills called Degs, which are filled with fresh water and sealed airtight using a natural paste of clay and cotton.

The Cold Condenser: As a wood or cow-dung fire gently heats the Deg, the aromatic steam travels through a hollow bamboo pipe (Chonga) into a copper receiver (Bhakka) submerged in a cold-water tank.

Sandalwood Base: The precious vapor condenses directly into a pure oil base traditionally organic Indian Sandalwood oil which patiently absorbs the volatile fragrance molecules over several hours.

#CRAFTSMANSHIP

Guided by Intuition, Perfected by Time

True attar cannot be quantified by digital gauges or automated timers. It relies entirely on the seasoned intuition of our master distillers, the Dighas.

Sensory Mastery: Without thermometers, our craftsmen monitor the distillation entirely by touch and sound, feeling the temperature of the copper pipes and listening to the simmer within the stills.

The Art of Aging: Once extraction is complete, the blended oil is transferred into traditional camel-skin pouches called Kuppis. These porous leather bags allow excess moisture to evaporate naturally, concentrating and maturing the perfume.

A Living Heritage: Each bottle of Kannauj Heritage attar is a liquid piece of history—a complex, long-lasting fragrance that evolves beautifully on your skin, carrying the spirit of the artisans who breathed life into it.
